Virtual Discovery AG takes your privacy very seriously as we are committed to protecting your data. This privacy policy and the terms of use for our XR apps explain how we use and protect the information you provide to us when using our XR applications.

 

What information do we collect about you in our XR applications and games?

We only collect personal data if it is necessary for the provision of our services. If we collect personal data within our XR applications, this is always done with your knowledge and consent. We explain to you why we collect the data and how it is used. If no further information on the processing of personal data is visible in the application, we do not collect any of this data.

 

What data do we collect about you on our website?

When you browse our website outside of our XR applications, we use cookies for analytical data, like most other websites. A cookie is a small anonymised file that is placed on your computer's hard drive with your permission in order to track your activity on the website. We use cookie information exclusively for statistical analysis to analyse the pages visited by users. During this process, none of your personal data is collected. In this case, the data protection provisions of our website vi-di.ch or virtual-arena.ch apply at all times.

It is not necessary to enter personal data to use our website. If you make an enquiry by email, telephone or other means, the data you provide will be stored and we will use this information for our correspondence. We may ask you for further information, such as your phone number or your colleagues' contact details. In such cases, we will explain to you why we need the information and it will be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store the data entered for the duration of your subscription.

We do not store any personal data on or for our games or experiences. We only store anonymous, aggregated information taken from platform owners' dashboards.

 

What platform-specific data is collected?

Our games are developed using Unity Engine and use Unity's built-in analytics and crash tools. This includes:

  • Crash reports
  • Basic performance metrics
  • Device specifications
  • Length of game sessions
  • Usage statistics for features

This data is anonymised before it is collected and is used exclusively for technical improvements. We retain the data for a maximum of 90 days and process it in accordance with Unity's privacy practices.

Our XR application and games do not contain any advertising or tracking from third parties.

How is your data used?

We collect your data only to provide the services or information you have requested, e.g. to send you the newsletter or to respond to your enquiry. We do not use your data for profiling or subsequent marketing purposes. We do not share this data with other companies or organisations and will never sell or rent this information.

 

Who has access to your data?

All data collected by Virtual Discovery AG about you is kept under our control. We will not share, sell or rent your information to companies or organisations outside of Virtual Discovery AG, unless required by law.

Our website may contain links to other websites and we are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are encouraged to make their own privacy policy available to you.

If you have agreed to connect to Facebook for an app developed by Virtual Discovery AG, we will only use your data for that specific app and will not pass it on to third parties.

By installing an app or game developed by Virtual Discovery AG, you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not install or use any of our XR applications or games.

 

How long do we store your data?

  • Analysis data: 90 days
  • Crash reports: 30 days
  • User-requested data: Until account deletion
  • Anonymous Usage Statistics: Up to 1 year

By using our games, you consent to this privacy policy. If you do not agree with any part of it, please discontinue use of our games and contact us with your concerns.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we will store your contact information until you unsubscribe. After that, we will immediately remove your information from our systems.

If you have sent us an enquiry by email, we store this data until we have answered your enquiry satisfactorily or while you are discussing a collaboration with us.

Once we start working together, we store your data for as long as you are a customer and for six months thereafter in case of follow-up work. Once the dialogue or customer relationship has ended, we will remove your data from our systems after six months.

If we intend to keep your data for longer than this, we will notify you.

 

What are your rights?

You can restrict the use of your personal data or request that your data be deleted by emailing us at info@vi-di.ch or by unsubscribing from the newsletter subscription list.

We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties unless you have instructed us to do so or we are legally required to do so.

 

How can you delete your data?

You can choose to have Virtual Discovery AG delete some or all of your data. Send an e-mail to info@vi-di.ch to have data deleted or changed.

 

How do we protect your children's data?

We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent. If you are a parent/guardian and believe we may have inadvertently collected such information, please email us at info@vi-di.ch. We encourage parents to monitor their children's game usage and disable in-app purchases when appropriate. No in-app purchases are offered in the XR applications from Virtual Discovery AG.
